These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of JourneyGrid, a group trip planning app operated by JourneyGrid. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
You need a valid email and password to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your password private and for anything that happens on your account. Let us know right away if you think someone else got in.
You can create trips, invite people you know, share plans, split expenses, and coordinate logistics. You keep ownership of the content you post (trip names, notes, photos, expense entries). You give us a limited license to store and display that content so the app works for you and the people you invite.
Some features (larger trips, unlimited members) require a paid plan. Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Their Terms and Privacy Policy apply to that transaction. We don't store your full card number - Stripe does.
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current period; we don't pro-rate mid-period.
We may offer free trials or discounts through partners. Terms of each offer will be shown when you redeem it. Partner codes may include additional restrictions (max redemptions, expiry dates).
JourneyGrid helps groups track shared expenses and split the bill mathematically. We do not move money. Any real-world payment between trip members happens outside our app on whatever channel you pick.
When you join a trip, other members of that trip can see your name, avatar, what you've claimed (seats, spots, gear), and any notes you leave inside that trip. Only invite people you trust.
If you save a pickup or destination address, we store the coordinates so we can render maps and compute routes. You can clear a saved address any time from your trip profile. Address auto-complete is powered by OpenStreetMap (a nonprofit mapping project) and route calculation by our mapping provider - we send only the coordinates needed to render your route.
We send transactional emails (trip invites, RSVPs, big trip updates) and optional push notifications. You can turn off any category of notification in your profile.
You can delete your account any time. Deleted trips sit in a 30-day trash bin so you can restore them, then are permanently removed. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
JourneyGrid is provided "as is." We work hard to keep the app running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We're not liable for real-world outcomes of your trip - showing up, getting home safely, splitting the bill fairly - those are on you and your group.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for anything relating to JourneyGrid is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
We may update these Terms occasionally. If a change is material, we'll email you and post a notice in the app before it takes effect.
